Organic viticulture and Biodiversity

Our estate is cultivated entirely organically. We use no chemicals in our vineyards and all treatments are of natural origin. No weedkillers, pesticides or synthetic products are used and weeding is done mechanically by working the soil. In the autumn, a flock of 200 sheep graze in the vineyards which provides us with the most natural weeding solution.

Thanks to this our ecosystem is dynamic and balanced with soils that are naturally rich. The Château uses cover crops between the rows of vines to act as a reservoir of biodiversity by sheltering insects and bees.  With the production of honey, the estate encourages bee activity. As a pollinator, bees play an essential role in biodiversity by improving the water and mineral supply of the vines. Our philosophy is one of minimal intervention. We strengthen the vines’ immunity to diseases with natural products by spraying the vines with organic cereal fermenters and seaweed extracts. Bottling and wine making work is done according to the biodynamic calendar and lunar cycles.
